The Airspeed Tunnel Camp

Arizona Airspeed members have been running tunnel camps since the first realistic skydiving wind tunnel was opened in Orlando, in the late 90's. Arizona Airspeed has coached more tunnel camps than any other team or organization in skydiving. We have been able to assemble vast amounts of instructional knowledge over the past decade to ensure that you are receiving the best coaching available anywhere.

Hosting tunnel camps in the SkyVenture Arizona Wind tunnel has many advantages. The 14 foot diameter tunnel can hold all of the IPC 4-way formations. State-of-the-art debriefing stations ensure that nothing is missed in your debrief. A creeper area guarantees good preparation before entering for your session.

Arizona Airspeed can customize your tunnel camp to meet your individual goals, or if you prefer, come with your team. Whatever you choose, you can be sure you will get the most out of your time in the tunnel.

Camp Dates

June 8-9, 2013

Should these dates not work with your schedule, smaller more individualized camps may be an option. Please email interest to tunnelcamps@airspeed.org.

Individual coaching is always an option too.

How the Camp Works

The tunnel camp lasts 2 days and includes 1 hour of actual flying time in the Skyventure tunnel. You will be paired up with one Arizona Airspeed coach and up to 2 other campers. This will keep the ratio of camper and coaches at or below 3:1.

During the day, you can expect to spend your time before the session preparing with creeping and talking through technique or theory. You will be spending all of your time in the tunnel with an Arizona Airspeed coach.  This enables you to have the most effective learning available. After the session, we will be debriefing fully with video, talking about good things from the session and improvements for the next.

We are able to suit the camps to the individual or teams participating. If you would like to learn specific moves or techniques, we are able to cater to your needs. We can also design the camp for teams, offering 3 on 1, 2 on 2 or even 1 on 3 coaching.

Your Skill Level

We are able to customize camps to any skill level, whether you are just off student status or if you are a World Champion, we are able to cater a camp that suits your needs and flying abilities.

What You Get For Your Money

The total cost of the camp is $1,150 USD and includes tunnel time, coaching, preparation, debrief and an informative handout to take with you. Lunch and snacks are also included in the price. The camp starts at approximately 8 a.m. every day (some are slightly earlier or later due to tunnel availability) and begin with a warm up and stretching then right into the first session prep.

Extra time is available in the evening after camp hours.  You can spend this time with an Arizona Airspeed coach going over skills or learning new ones. Extra time is rated at tunnel time plus $75 per 15 minutes of coaching.
